Parallel aan rituele Afrikaanse kunst die zij bewondert, bezweert zij als het ware de werkelijkheid in een expressief gestileerde vormentaal. ,,In mijn werk geef ik intuïtief en direct uiting aan mijn innerlijke gevoelens. Door de combinatie van fantasie en beleving schep ik orde in de chaos van ervaringen." Suzanne werkt het liefst met gemengde techniek, verf in combinatie met houtskool en inkt.,,Ik gebruik daarbij vooral aardkleuren en werk graag op kringlooppapier. Dat heeft materie en geeft mij houvast."
Human interaction is the central focus in Suzanne's work. As in/ parallel to the ritual African art that she so admires Suzanne weaves a spell around reality in her work, using an expressive and stylized language of form. "In my work I express my inner feelings in a direct and intuitive way. I combine imagination and personal experience to create some sort of order in the chaos of the world around me". Susanne prefers to work using mixed techniques, using paint combined with charcoal and ink. "I tend to use mostly earthy colours and work on recycled paper. This has material structure and gives me grounding.
